Graceland

I think what makes Graceland part of American literature is the fact that they were able to use lyrics and different genres of music in America to influence the flow of African music. They used what they knew and combined it with the culture behind the music made in Africa. They sang about things happening in America that African musicians wouldn't use or understand. In a way, it is like different countries having their own slang.
