My Big Question

Are we able to see the same color? How do we know if my blue is the same as your blue? Are there even any ways to explain what blue, red, or green looks like? Some could say red is hot and blue is cold, but could that even make sense to a person that has always been blind?  You would be able to describe pain, but that doesn’t mean they would be able to feel it, but when it comes to color there’s nothing to describe.

How I Learn

The routine I use to get my school work done usually is just wait till nighttime. I try to do it when I get back home but I never end up doing it. I never organize school stuff because it’s aleays so random. I usually just start my homework around 7 and usually finish around 10. The way I learn is if I’m interested in the the thing I’m being taught. And when it comes to remembering things I just try to remember a scenario that had to do with what I’m trying to remember.

KATHA UPANISHAD

I was kind of confused on what the story meant. I couldn’t tell if it was because I wasn’t focused or what. I just understood that it was about people taking to each other but what they said was kind of confusing. Some parts of it made some sense but the rest just confused me. From what I read and tried to think about, the meaning probably was based off death of a person? I’m not sure if that makes sense or not.

REFLECTION ON RICHARD CORY

When I memorized the poem “Richard Cory” I started to think about it differently. I thought about why he might have killed himself, and I thought about how the poem relates to my life today. It seems that he killed himself probably because he just wasn’t happy about life. He maybe didn’t enjoy how his life was. Or there was something that no one knew about that made him want to die. I and many others can relate at times, just because you seem normal and nothing seems wrong doesn’t mean that’s how they feel.

Am I Entitled To My Opinion?

An easy answer to that question would be no, I am not entitled to my opinion. I think each person with a good state of mind would say that they aren't, if not then they probably think different of what it means. Usually, I'll have an opinion but if someone makes me believe something that would make more sense I would just change my mind. Unlike people that are entitled to their opinion, thinking that just because it's their opinion they think it's correct. It leads them to try and stop people that think and say whatever they want.

Response to The Right To Your Opinion

I didn't really expect to understand The Right To Your Opinion or expect to learn anything. After reading it I did understand some points it was trying to make. I also noticed that the reading was very long and was a couple of paragraphs long. What I understood was that many people think they have the right to do something just because it's their opinion. Also that you might think you have the right to do something but really don't, and you don't have the right to do something that you have the right to do. I might have read that wrong but that's what I think the reading meant. Being entitled to your opinion is irrelevant and has nothing to do with what matters in a conversation.

The Socratic Method

After reviewing The Socratic Method and reading the dialogue a few things came to mind. It seems interesting to be able to change someone’s mind about their opinion just by asking them multiple questions. I’ve used this type of method in a way before in an argument, but of course it won’t always work either by the person not caring about what you say or them being so intitled to their opinion that they think what ever you say is wrong. Reading the dialogue made me understand that arguments don’t really consist of facts but more of an understanding on both parts. Just by using simple questions they will lose against themselves, and that’s what makes the method very interesting.

Les Book vs Les Movie

A big difference had to do with how things were explained. What I mean is that in the book things were explained with such detail and meanin...
