Literature Analysis #3

1. Old Yeller is about a kid named Travis Coats that is put in charge by his about to leave father named Jim Coates to take care of his family on their Texas ranch. He and his mother and little brother find a dog named Old Yeller that ended up messing up their field. At first they try to drive it away, but later on keeping and taking care of the dog. After spending a lot of time together, the dog gets rabies and Travis ends up having to shoot Old Yeller.
2. The plot of Old Yeller has to do with Travis going through adulthood and having to make responsible choices.
3. It doesn't really specify what time he sleeps but it's probably a mix of early most of the time and late sometimes depending on his chores. He probably eats a nice small breakfast meal, know that it was the mid-1900's, it was simple. When it talks about him in the morning it usually just explains the chores he's going to do during the day.
4. The climax took place was when Old Yeller ended up getting rabies. What was also observed was that the story was told from a first-person point of view. There was some foreshadowing when people started to talk about an outbreak of rabies going around. There were flashbacks to when Travis first found the dog when he ended up having to shoot Old Yeller. The resolution was before and after Travis had to shoot his rabid dog.
